The rain poured down suddenly and violently on the city as if even the sky felt pity for the sultry summer heat. As the last droplets flooded the streets, I hurriedly sought shelter in a nearby archway. I wasn’t alone; a young lady was there too, in her soaked clothes, trying to protect herself from the rain. Her wet shirt clung to her, highlighting her sporty, beautiful figure. Drops of water trickled from her hair, adorning her eyelashes like pearls. A glance and a few lighthearted exchanges later, the situation didn’t feel so grave anymore.
The gray sky slowly brightened, and the storm softened to a gentle rain. She suggested we start walking together. We laughed at our own jokes as we walked through the streets, enjoying the fresh, rainy air and the shared moments. The coolness of the air and the shared experience brought us closer together. Although the mood and the emotions that arrived with the stormy speed heated the space between us, the chill of the rain eventually brought up the idea of drying off.
As we walked, we neared my apartment, and I decided to invite her up for some warm tea to warm up. In the warmth of my room and the bond strengthened by the storm, we both felt that something special was happening between us.
As we entered my apartment, the warm air welcomed us, dispelling the chill we felt outside. Soft music played in the background, making the atmosphere even more homely. As we made tea, we talked about our lives and dreams as if we were old friends. The connecting conversation, the intimate atmosphere, and the proximity caused by the storm magically worked together.
As we sipped our tea, we moved closer together on the couch. The sounds of the receding storm, along with the beating of our hearts, became the main musical backdrop. As our conversation progressed, we increasingly touched each other’s hands when the topics became more personal.
Finally, when the tea was gone and it seemed like the storm had completely stopped, I asked her if she would stay longer. Her honest and longing look said it all. No further words were necessary because the attraction between us had long decided for us.
